How to commit suicide on Facebook?

Remember how Tom Cruise commits suicide in The Last Samurai? The very act is called seppuku in Japanese. Here is a site inspired from it called seppukoo. Have fun of committing suicide of your facebook profile. How weird? But its a trend. Hold on you gotta wait. Facebook has banned it to stop the suicide pandemic. Hope you can commit suicide when its reinstated.

Youtube: related videos, WTF?

Google is super intelligent, so should Youtube be. Google has the most sophisticated algorithms on earth. Lets see.. One of friend forwarded me the links to “Battle At Kruger” video. Quite impressive. I just followed the related video links suggested by Youtube & landed here. Well, the video is on “Buffalo vs. Lion”. The interesting part is the related videos recommendation for this video. How is a “Buffalo vs. Lion” video related to “Chicks giving Blowjob”? You be the judge.

This is the link to video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_BtMuSjnGcY

Below are the screen shots that I managed to take. I tried the link with several pcs in our office, got the same recommendation. So, dared to post this blog.

Gmail outage: postmortem report

Blow after blow for google. First marking the whole web as malicious & now gmail outage. I remember this quote from a movie: “You find out how much you love some one, only when you loose them”. I experienced this in both cases – unavailability of google search & gmail outage. Finally they have found what triggered the very news making outage. The root cause of the problem was a software bug that caused an unexpected service disruption during the course of a routine maintenance event. Want to know in detail what went wrong… refer to this postmortem report.

What happens to the 99.9% SLA for Google Apps? Well the subscribers get a 15 day extension of the service as a compensation. Not bad Google!

This is how I bought a banned book, legally!

Recently I had a chance to complete a Silverlight survey from Microsoft. Got an Amazon gift voucher. Tried to buy some electronic stuff, but none are shipped to India. So I thought of buying Satanic Verses by Salman Rushdie. As it is banned in India, the only way is to smuggle it after buying it from some country where it is available or download a pdf. Though I have a pdf, it’s always been my wish to add it to my library. Common sense says that Amazon won’t ship it to a country where it’s banned. Still, I gave it a go. To my surprise, they shipped it. The label on the carton does not say it contains a banned book, invoice inside says, though. This is how I bought a banned book, legally!
